Avijit Ghosh was born in the north-eastern town of Agartala and grew up in the small towns of Bihar and Jharkhand. A journalist for the past 30 years and currently employed with The Times of India, he is the author of the award-winning Cinema Bhojpuri (2010), 40 Retakes: Bollywood Classics You May Have Missed (2013) and When Ardh Satya Met Himmatwala: The Many Lives of 1980s Hindi Cinema.
